Question by PATTI D: Is there a gracious way for our wedding invitations to ask guests NOT to wear black?
My fiance dislikes wearing black. It bothers him when people come to festive social occasions dressed all in black. He thinks it is negative. He wants us to include in our wedding invitations “please don’t wear black”. I want to support his strong feelings about this but I also want to be gracious to those we invite to the wedding. Any advice?

Answer by Laura Yes. Don’t include anything in the wedding invitation about attire. There is no polite way to include a personal preference like that. It is incredibly rude and disrespectful.
